About Airealism

Airealism is a London circus collective shaped by the people who make it. Since 2006, more than sixty artists have come together to create ambitious ensemble shows - building new worlds, telling stories and finding different ways to take circus into the air.

Who we are

Airealism has always been built around the idea of a collective. Each production brings together a different mix of aerialists, performers and theatre-makers, with everyone bringing their own skills, ideas and personality to the show.

Each show is created as an ensemble, with aerial performance developing alongside character, movement and story. A new production might bring us together for months at a time; between productions, members return to their own training, jobs and creative lives until the next idea brings the company together again.

Over the years, people have shared skills and taken on different roles too, with performers becoming directors, producers and creative collaborators along the way.
